Vendor Feature: Willow And Wolf Photography
We are really excited about this blog post because we get to highlight one of our favorite vendors, Willow and Wolf Photography! They answered a few questions about being a wedding photography studio and working with our band.
Tell us a little blurb about you and where you’re based.
We are an adventure elopement and wedding photography studio based out of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, travelling between Kananskis, Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper. We capture what our clients love doing the most together. Creating memories surrounded by amazing scenery and full of their unique quirks. We are passionate about the outdoors and use our extensive knowledge of the area to find the perfect photo locations for every couple. Whether it be road-tripping to a beautiful lake, hiking to a mountaintop or going on a two-day backcountry adventure.
What is your favourite thing about working in weddings?
We feel so lucky to be able to capture memories that people will cherish for the rest of their lives and pass on for generations. We love that we are able to tell a story and freeze a perfect moment in time. Each and every couple we work with has a unique love story and it is such a special gift to go on these adventures and document them!
Can you share a fun memory while working with Supersonic Hearts Band?
We were lucky enough to work with Supersonic Hearts at Alex and Alex’s backyard ranch wedding in Okotoks last summer. The energy they brought to the dance-floor was wild! They got everyone up dancing and singing, including all the kids and grandparents!
What is your most memorable experience as a photographer?
This is a tough one! I feel like we make memorable experiences at each and every shoot so it’s hard to pick just one story to tell! For the sake of the question, I’ll share one story that sticks out in my mind. We planned an elopement a few weeks ago with a couple that loved backcountry camping together but also wanted to include their family in their day. All four of their parents applied for a temporary officiant license and together married them by a lake in the mountains. After the ceremony, they set up a picnic lunch and shared stories and advice to the couple with their trailers lined up behind them. We then packed our bags and went on an overnight camping adventure with them and their pup! We set up our tents by a remote lake, had a fire, and enjoyed a perfect summer night under the stars. It was so beautiful and special to who they were and what they love doing together.
Do you have a quote to live by?
Whenever we touch nature we get clean. People who have got dirty through too much civilisation take a walk in the woods, or a bath in the sea. Entering the unconscious, entering yourself through dreams, is touching nature from the inside and this is the same thing, things are put right again.
